This exhibition humbly displays the hope of a Chinese artist, at the moment when the whole world has turned its eyes towards China as it prepares to host the next Olympic Games in Beijing. Throughout 2008, this exhibition will be shown in France and abroad not only in sites of art and culture, but also in places touched by war and suffering.
"As long as we are unable to recognize and accept what is disgraceful in ourselves, we cannot accept what is disgraceful in others.” Martin Luther King How can we build Peace – Peace in the world, Peace in our nation, Peace in our family, Peace in our own hearts? This question is asked of everyone – in all cultures, and in all religions. Peace is, above all, is a process of internal conversion. It will not come unless we dare to believe it is still possible. Peace is a path of conversion and of hope. Qu Qianmei has lived this path.

Calendar of the exhibition in France, in Europe and in China
This year, UNESCO’s General Assembly will be held from October 8 – 12. Paintings from “Hope 2008” will be shown in a sneak-preview during the multicultural soirée to be held on the final evening of the General Assembly – Friday, October 12th – at UNESCO
